Personal capacity planning, made inspectable

Two sources, a fixed sequence, and limits CONTINUUM will not step outside. Capacity-aware daily planning should make its reasoning visible.

The inputs

The data CONTINUUM works from is your calendar and what you tell it yourself. There is no third source: nothing is bought in, and nothing is inferred about you from outside those two. Where results are written up in prose, a language model does the writing — that part is set out in the Intelligence Disclosure.

Your calendar

CONTINUUM connects to Google Calendar and reads the structure of your days: when commitments fall, how long they run, how tightly they cluster, how much transition they leave, and how many people attend as a count.

It also reads each commitment’s title, which is stored in shortened form and matched against keywords to sort the commitment into a life domain — work, health, recovery, travel and so on. That classification is what allows a week to be described as a distribution rather than a list.

It does not store event descriptions, attendee names or email addresses, meeting content, or video call links. Attendance is kept as a number, never as identities.

What you declare

When you set the account up you describe how you work: your work window, your energy pattern, and the recovery habits you keep. This is what capacity rests on when no calendar is connected.

What you record

A short check-in each morning, and a brief Evening Debrief covering how the day actually went. These are self-reported. Nothing measures them, and CONTINUUM does not infer them when you skip a day.

The sequence

The same order every day, so a reading can always be traced back to what produced it.

  • Your calendar is read, and each commitment is classified by the domain it belongs to and the demand it carries.
  • The Demand Index is computed from that structure — duration, density, clustering, and the transition time between commitments.
  • The Capacity Index follows from that demand when a calendar is connected, and from your declared work window, energy pattern and recovery habits when one is not.
  • Agenda Intelligence runs a fixed set of structural checks over the day and names what will make it harder than it looks.
  • A written account of the day is generated from those results and presented in the Today Cockpit.
  • The Evening Debrief records what actually happened, which is what the week is later described from.
  • Weekly Intelligence summarises distribution and recurring pattern across those days.

Rules, not estimates

The indices are computed with fixed rules. They are not a model’s guess about how you feel.

This distinction matters more than it might appear. A figure produced by a fixed rule can be explained, audited and disagreed with. A figure produced by estimation can only be trusted or ignored — and a system asking you to change how you work has not earned blind trust.

One step deserves naming rather than burying, because it is the closest thing here to a guess. Commitments are sorted into life domains by matching keywords in their titles. It is a rule, and it is inspectable, but a commitment whose title does not describe what it really is will land in the wrong domain — and every distribution built on top of it inherits that error.

Language models are used to write the account of your day in readable prose. They are not used to decide what that account says. How generated language is used across the product is set out in the Intelligence Disclosure.

What it will not do

These are design decisions, not features that have yet to be built.

It will not infer what it cannot see. Where a signal has no source, CONTINUUM says so and leaves the space empty rather than filling it with an approximation. A plausible number is worse than an absent one, because you would act on it.

It will not estimate physiology from a calendar. No wearable is connected and no physiological signal is available. Recovery is assessed as time set aside in your schedule. It is never presented as a measured state of your body.

It will not act on your calendar without your approval. CONTINUUM can propose a specific change and show you the exact times first. Nothing changes unless you accept it, one change at a time, and CONTINUUM never rearranges your day in the background or deletes a commitment.

It will not issue directives. Everything it produces is an observation. Weekly Intelligence states this on its face: observations, not directives. Your schedule remains yours.

Where it is weak

A calendar is a proxy for a life, and proxies fail in describable ways.

CONTINUUM reads structure rather than meaning. A ninety-minute commitment that restored you and a ninety-minute commitment that drained you are the same shape on a calendar. Work that never appears as an event — the interruptions, the queue of decisions, the thinking done while travelling — is invisible to it.

This is the reason the Evening Debrief exists, and the reason guidance is framed as observation. The calendar proposes; you are the one who knows what actually happened.
